Spoon Carving Workshop at Mystic
The Local Trade is teaming up with Mystic in Mill Valley for a hands-on spoon carving workshop led by Aaron Sanchez. Spend an evening learning Japanese carving techniques that have been passed down for centuries, all in a relaxed, community-focused setting.
This beginner-friendly class walks you through the full process. You'll sketch your spoon design, learn how to safely use a range of carving tools, and discover different methods for working with the wood grain. By the end of the night, you'll have a finished piece you carved with your own hands.
Carving is meditative by nature, and this is as much about slowing down and connecting with others as it is about the craft itself. No experience required, just bring yourself.
